Campsite Manager App — Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Campsite Manager mobile app (“the app”) handles information. The app is published by Technophobia Ltd (“we”, “us”), Unit 13B Devonshire Road Industrial Estate, Millom, Cumbria, LA18 4JS, United Kingdom (Company No. 14898332).
The Campsite Manager app is intended for campsite owners, wardens, and staff to manage their own site’s bookings. It is not a guest-facing app.
How the app works
The Campsite Manager app does not have its own central account system or central database. Instead, the app connects to your own campsite’s booking system. When you sign in, the app talks directly to your campsite’s own website to retrieve and manage your bookings, pitches, and guest information.
This means there are two separate roles:
- Your campsite is responsible for the booking and guest data held in its system (it is the “data controller” for that information). Your own privacy policy governs how you hold and use it, including the personal data of guests who book with you.
- Technophobia Ltd provides the app software. We do not receive, store, or have access to your bookings or your guests’ details on any central server of ours.
Information the app handles
To let you manage your site, the app handles the following:
- Your sign-in details and a secure access token — used only to authenticate you to your own campsite’s system and fetch its data.
- Your campsite’s web address — so the app knows which site to connect to.
- Booking and guest information displayed to you — such as guest names, contact details, stay dates, pitch assignments, payment status, and notes, retrieved from your campsite’s system so you can manage them.
- App settings and your saved sign-in session — stored on your device so you do not have to sign in every time.
Where information is stored
- On your device: your sign-in session and app settings are stored locally on your phone. They are removed if you sign out, uninstall the app, or clear its data.
- With your campsite: the actual booking and guest records are held in your campsite’s booking system, not by us.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app may alert you about new bookings or changes at your site. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers. The app communicates only with your own campsite’s booking system in order to display and manage your bookings. The app does not include third-party advertising.
Maps and directions
If you tap a directions or “navigate” option, the app may open your device’s map application (for example Google Maps). Once you leave the app for a separate map or navigation app, that app’s own privacy policy applies.
Your responsibilities as a campsite operator
Because the app gives you access to your guests’ personal data, you are responsible for handling that data in line with UK data protection law — for example, keeping your device and sign-in secure, and only accessing guest information for legitimate booking-management purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your own personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, or ask for it to be deleted.
- For guest booking data shown in the app, the campsite is the data controller and is responsible for responding to guests’ data requests.
- For questions about the app itself, contact us using the details below. You can also remove all locally stored app data at any time by signing out or uninstalling the app.
Children
The app is intended for campsite operators and staff and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
